This course introduces students to basic information technologies used in academic and professional activities.
Students will learn to use word processing tools, spreadsheets, cloud services and basic programming environments.
The aim of the course is to provide theoretical and practical knowledge of Informatics and to develop skills needed for applying these in the study process, professional activities and life-long learning.
By completing the course, students acquire knowledge about computer architecture and structure, basic concepts of information, informatics and information technologies, fundamentals of algorithm theory, and principles of algorithm design.
Students are able to create algorithms, design programs for professional problem solving, apply mathematical calculation functions, cycles, and visualize data using graphs in the MATLAB environment.
